the future…undecided?

Today during my second hour of study hall I got into thinking about certain things. Things such as where i want to be right out of high school. My teacher provoked this thought in earth science. My teacher and peer were discussing how bright the child’s future could be. He was by no means a successful KID in high school. He wasn’t very popular, not very athletic, BUT HE WAS A STRAIGHT A STUDENT. I began to ponder where i might be when i graduate. I’m thinking to myself unless i get an athletic scholarship college seems a little out of hand financially and academically. I may have the grades to get into a community college, but i don’t have the drive to do the work. I have a hard time completing High school work with my parents pushing me. I was thinking how would I ever push myself to go to class or do the work.
So after i knocked college off my list i began to think about music. I am talented with music, but there’s not a good chance that music will make me too much of a profit. Plus i don’t feel like living poorly. However there is the slight chance that I could become very rich. This was a very enticing thought. But the chance of this happening is very slim. So as I was pondering this listening to “dancing in the moonlight” by Thin Lizzy my buddy Joe Guck walks in. And he starts talking to me about the air force. We discuss this for quite a while. Then I decided to check out the other military branches because the air force did not sound like my type of thing. So I check out the army, it looked alright but once again not my style. Then the navy pops up, it looks alright I think I’ll check out the marines real quick. I started looking at the pages.
Low and behold I’m sitting on the computer for a half of an hour looking at the marines. I have a lot of time on my hands here. The marines start to seem more and more like what I want to do. I also think of a couple of my buddies who have been in Iraq. I think very highly of them. So I text my older brothers friend mike, an active marine who is in Rochester right now. He explains to me that the marines are great, It aids you to become more of a man. He also tells me that it’s mainly physical ability combined with natural instincts. Two of which I have. Something I don’t have is book smarts. Apparently the marines don’t require too much of book smarts.
So as of now if an athletic scholarship comes my way I plan to join the marines and let them pay for college. When they pay for my college I plan to go for audio engineering. This would involve working close to music and artists. And also allow me to continue showing my creative knack for music. So as of now my future consists of completing ninth grade, transferring to arcadia or Aquinas. Playing football, basketball, and baseball for school and Upstate Elite. After I graduate I plan to join the marines and after serving my time going to college for audio engineering. I’m still looking at different schools.
